MIKE TELBAN PURCHASES JOHNSON’S NURSERY
(July 17, 2006 East
Aurora, New York) Johnson’s Nursery announced today that Michael J. Telban
has purchased the company from Wayne F. Johnson. Terms of the purchase were
not disclosed.
Johnson’s Nursery is a
design and build residential and commercial landscape firm that serves all
of Western New York. It was founded by Waldemar Johnson in 1954. The
company employs more than twenty seasonal staff and includes a retail garden
supply center that was opened in 1985 and which specializes in unusual
trees, shrubs, perennials, and rockery.
Mr. Telban is a 1988
graduate of Cornell with a B.S. in Landscape Architecture. He has been the
company’s chief designer for ten years.
“Mike is a superb
horticulturist and an award-winning designer,” said Mr. Johnson. “As
owner of the company, he will have the opportunity to apply his considerable
management skills as well as to provide our clientele with a seamless
transition.”
“I’m looking forward to
the opportunity to run the company,” said Mr. Telban. “Johnson’s Nursery is
known for its quest to offer unusual plant material as well as for landscape
designs that reflect our customers’ individual lifestyles. Those traditions
will continue. I also intend to expand our selection of plant material and
hard goods.”
